Mega Moolah enters Guinness Books with a massive payout

Microgaming stamps Mega Moolah on the Guinness Books after the biggest payout in online slot history.

On 6 December, 2026, the online gaming industry witnessed the single biggest payout  as UK player Jon Heywood won £13,213,838.68 (AUD 27,019,657.33) on a 25p bet in Mega-Moolah in Betway.

While this was an achievement on its own for both Microgaming, and obviously for the Cheshire soldier Jon Heywood, the Guinness Books of World Record noted this in their official books on 10 December 2015, after thorough verification from both Microgaming and Betway casino and ratification from eCOGRA. Microgaming shares this honour with Jon Heywood himself and the operator Betway.

A Guinness World Records spokesperson comments: "I'm pleased to confirm that the Guinness World Records title for the largest jackpot payout in an online slot machine game is €17,879,645.12, which was won by Jonathan Heywood, while playing Microgaming's Mega Moolah on Betway's website. And Jon is certainly in the moolah now, thanks to his exceptional stroke of luck."
